The United States GP was once again the set of one of the most exciting fights in F1. Mercedes and Red Bull reached a very high technical level, so that only strategic differences and the drivers' mistakes could predict the outcome.

With their fourth-place finish in Austin, Ferrari is positive going into the last part of the season. Speed and consistent race pace gave Leclerc the possibility to fight for a podium.

A team that’s been stagnant for the entire 2021 season. It’s exactly because of Alfa Romeo’s static technical approach, with zero development, that rumours about deal negotiations between Sauber and Andretti have been circulating. Even Alpine is planning to change its PU in the next few races - not for reliability reasons but to start testing the new components in view of the 8 days of collective tests programmed between February and March 2022.

Ferrari is on track with its future hybrid engine. The SF21 represents a laboratory on track to test and validate the components and the hybrid systems that will equip its 2022 Formula 1 car.

On paper, Austin should have favoured Mercedes but the German squad left Texas with a poorer result than expected, albeit still leading the Constructor’s championship. Finishing sixth with Bottas and second with Hamilton, the team seemed to have lost the plot and its old invincibility.
